Faster Notification for Faster Escape
In the event of a fire or carbon monoxide (CO) emergency, every second counts. Unfortunately, traditional battery-operated alarms can often cost you precious time. For example, if a fire starts in your basement while you're asleep upstairs, you may not hear the smoke alarm, and it may take several minutes before the heat and smoke reaches an alarm that's close enough for you to hear its siren.
Thankfully, the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector is designed to provide you the earliest warning in an emergency. When this clever device detects smoke or carbon monoxide, all integrated ONELINK alarms in your home will together, increasing your chances of getting out safely.
Interconnectivity Without the Wires
Until now, alarms that could signal each other were only available in homes with hardwired systems. All ONELINK alarms, however, communicate with each other wirelessly through integrated radio frequency. This means that when one sounds, they all sound, providing a whole-home safety network.
If you already have an existing system of hardwired alarms, but you are looking for an update, simply replace one of the alarms with the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector--your alarms will continue to be able to communicate with one another.
Talking Alarm Tells You Where the Danger Is
Not only do ONELINK wireless alarms talk to each other, but they also talk to you! Voice warning with location technology means that integrated ONELINK alarms will tell you where the danger is in your home with an actual programmable voice. For example, if there is fire in your basement, the alarm in your bedroom will speak 'Warning, evacuate. Smoke in basement." This feature will help you plan your escape method, so you can evacuate your family as safely as possible.
Accurate Technology Minimizes False Alarms
Utilizing environmentally friendly photoelectric technology to sense smoke, the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector reduces the chance of false alarms caused by cooking or bathing.
Additionally, this alarm features an electrochemical CO sensor, which is the most accurate technology available for detecting CO.
Designed for Safety and Ease of Use
As user-friendly as it is effective, the ONELINK has a dual-purpose button that silences the alarm and tests the system's function. And because the device emits a loud 85-dB siren, you'll be sure to hear it, even if you're asleep or in the shower. The audible low-battery signal can be muted for up to eight hours (so as not to disturb your sleep).
As safe as it is easy to use, this ONELINK device is FCC compliant for wireless device standards, and it meets UL217 and UL2034 standards for combination CO and smoke alarms.
The ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

I am satisfied with both the product and my dealings with Amazon. Both were excellent!
"Straightforward" 2010-01-02

These combined CO/smoke detectors install and set up very easily. Let's hope there will never be an opportunity to comment on their function. My only complaint is the blister pack was harder to open than most.
"Overpriced and barely usable" 2009-12-01
By Red Castle (NM)
One of the reasons this unit is expensive is because it is a combination CO detector and smoke detector.I would have preferred a CO detector alone because I already have a smoke detector.Another reason for the high price is the feature that allows it to communicate with other First Alert units.Since I only have one unit this feature is useless to me.First Alert does not offer a consumer friendly line of products.I also noticed that the packaging was covered in propaganda about the communication feature, but completely lacking any basic information about the specifications as a CO detector. It took three tries to get the unit installed because it kept going into some kind of fault mode and the electronic "voice" kept saying to check the instructions, which were no help. After attaching/detaching the unit and removing/inserting the batteries I finally got the unit to stay active.Every couple of weeks the unit still chirps about some kind of error and says to check the instructions, which are no help. The electronic "voice" is very hard to understand. The instruction sheet is the size of a table and cannot be easily folded for filing. The unit could not be registered due to a script/HTML error on the First Alert website.
On the plus side:
1. The included batteries were a name brand rather than something cheap from overseas.
2. The base had versatile mounting holes.
"I really like these, feels safe, but BATTERIES run out quickly" 2009-11-29
By Kathy
I have 4 of these smoke detectors installed in my cape cod home and it makes me feel safe. When one goes off, they all go off and the deep male voice says whether there is smoke or CO2 in the house. ONCE they went off when there was smoke in the kitchen. The rest of the time they go off, mostly in the middle of the night for some mysterious reason, saying, in the loud man's voice, "Change the batteries in the kitchen smoke detector" or "Change the batteries in the hallway smoke detector" etc etc. I currently have two of them lying on the floor with the battery drawers pulled out which stops the voice and the beep--beep--beep letting me know the batteries, which I had installed maybe 2 or 3 or 4 weeks before, are used up. The detectors are still lying on the floor days later because if I install new batteries then I will be woken up ever sooner by those batteries wearing out. Still I rate with 3 stars because these detectors make me feel safe. What's wrong with this picture? One is in sight laying on the floor as I type this. I use the brand and number of battery recommended by FirstAlert and I do not test the smoke detectors monthly because that would use up the batteries even more quickly.
"Good Product, but Eats Batteries!" 2009-11-20
By F. E. Smith (northern Illinois)
I purchased three of these when they first came out--quite a few years ago--based on a Consumer Reports evaluation. I love the idea, and they were very easy to set up. We've never had one go off in an emergency, but we have been awakened a lot because the batteries have run down and we get a loud warning. The first couple times it's really heart stopping to hear an amplified voice shouting outside your bedroom. The main unit goes through batteries as often as every two weeks. Although, sometimes the batteries will last for many months. Since I always buy top end batteries with distant expiration dates, this makes no sense. Because the battery tray slides out at an odd angle, the finger-hole used to pull it out is smaller than a finger, and the plastic binds on itself, changing the battery of a device that's shouting at you in the middle of the night is no simple task. Since they are so expensive but seem to work well, I'm not sure if I want to replace them, get rid of them, or just keep burning through batteries. I know for sure that my wife is really annoyed.
